Chapter 11
Administering DomainsAdminister Calendar Server hosted (or virtual) domains using one of the two command-line utilities:
- User Management Utility commadmin domain commands – For Schema 2 environments. Bundled with Identity Server. See the Sun Java System Communications Services User Management Utility Administration Guide at:
http://docs.sun.com/coll/CalendarServer_04q2
- Calendar Server utilities csdomain and csattribute – For Schema 1 environments. Bundled with Calendar Server. See Appendix D, "Calendar Server Command-Line Utilities Reference."
For an overview of hosted domains and other introductory material, see Chapter 5, "Setting Up Hosted Domains"
This chapter contains the following sections about creating and administering hosted domains:
Creating New DomainsThis section covers the following topics on setting up Calendar Server enabled domains:
Creating New Domains
Once your calendar installation has been configured for hosted domains and the preparation work described in Chapter 5, "Setting Up Hosted Domains" has been performed, you can add new hosted domains using the following tools:
- User Management Utility – Use the commadmin domain create command. This command allows you to add domains in a Schema 2 environment that are enabled for Identity Server authentication. See the command reference in the Sun Java System Communications Services User Management Utility Administration Guide at:
http://docs.sun.com/coll/CalendarServer_04q2
- Calendar Server csdomain utility – This utility is described in Appendix D, "Calendar Server Command-Line Utilities Reference".
Setting Domain Specific Attributes and Preferences
Each domain has a set of attributes and preferences that you can set using the csdomain utility (Schema 1) or the commadmin utility (Schema 2). These attributes are part of the icsCalendarDomain object class. The attributes include preferences such as access rights, access control lists (ACLs), domain searches, access rights for domain searches, user status, and proxy logins.
Several documents with valuable information on the utilities and schema attributes are available at:
http://docs.sun.com/coll/CalendarServer_04q2
Those docs are:
Administering DomainsAdminister domains using the User Management Utility commadmin commands for Schema 2, or the Calendar Server utility csdomain for Schema 1. You can create, delete or list domains with these utilities.
For csdomain, there is no modify command. Use ldapmodify to add or change object classes and attributes in domains created with csdomain.
For Schema 2 instructions: see the Sun Java System Communications Services User Management Utility Administration Guide at:
