Preface

The Sun StorageTek Availability Suite 4.0 Remote Mirror Software Administration Guide describes the Sun StorageTektrademark Remote Mirror software and its use. This guide is intended for system administrators who have experience with the Solaristrademark operating system (Solaris OS) and related disk storage systems.



Note - This software was previously known as the Sun StorEdge Network Data Replicator (SNDR) software.




Before You Read This Book

To fully use the information in this document, you must have thorough knowledge of the Solaris OS.


How This Book Is Organized

Chapter 1 provides general information about the Remote Mirror software.

Chapter 2 describes the Remote Mirror synchronization and replication modes.

Chapter 3 describes how to configure and prepare to use the software.

Chapter 4 explains Remote Mirror software operations including startup, synchronization, and recovery rehearsals.

Chapter 5 describes use of the sndradm command.

Appendix A describes the dsstat reporting and monitoring command.
