Setting up SNMP Recipients

A recipient is a location on a manager where the SNMP agent sends traps. This location is defined by the combination of either the IP address or DNS name and the port number. The default recipient port number is 162.

Command: Configuration > Network

To add an SNMP Recipient:

1. Select the Snmp Recipients tab.

2. Click on the first available row and specify the following details:

Setting	Defaults	Description
Host		Server name (where the SNMP software application resides).
Community	Public	Agent community string. When set to public, requests coming from any community string will be accepted
Port	162	Port number. Valid numbers are 161, and 1024 to 65535.
Version	V1	Version of the SNMP standard. StorageTek’s L-series library embedded agents support Version 1 of the SNMP standard (SNMPv1).

3. Click Apply.

4. Click Reload to display the modified settings.

To set defaults for a SNMP Recipient:

1. Click on the recipient row to select.

2. Click Set Recipient Defaults.

To delete a SNMP Recipient:

1. Click on the recipient row to select.

2. Click Clear Recipient.

Tip! To select multiple lines, hold the Shift key and then click on the rows.

To delete all SNMP Recipients:

Click Clear All.
