The Virtualized M2 NEM has an attention button. The attention button is pressed to initiate a hot-plug insertion or hot-plug removal. The green Power/OK LED slow blinks while the action is taking place. If the button is pressed a second time within 5 seconds after the green Power/OK LED begins blinking, the hot-remove or insert request is aborted.
An alternative to pushing the Attention button is to use the Prepare to Remove and Return to Service commands in the ILOM.
The procedures for installing and removing the NEM describe the use of the ATTN button and ILOM hot plug commands. See the following procedures:
Note - Successive pushes of the attention button (other than to cancel within 5 seconds) are not allowed. If one or more blades refuses to release the NEM and go offline after the first attention button press, force a graceful hot remove, as described in Forcing NEM Graceful Removal.
