Understanding ILOM on the Switch
Open a web browser on a host that is on the same Ethernet network as the CMC that receives the firmware update.
Go to this URL:
The Sun Downloads page is displayed.
Click the Downloads A-Z tab.
An alphabetical listing of downloads is displayed.
Under S, click on the Sun Datacenter InfiniBand Switch 648 FW 1.0.2 (or higher) link.
The Sun Datacenter InfiniBand Switch 648 FW 1.0.2 page is displayed.
Check the license agreement box and click Continue.
The page updates to list the available files.
Download the required and optional files to your download directory.
The firmware is in the SUN_DCS_648_1.0.2.tar.gz file.
In your download directory, unpack the .gz file:
# gunzip SUN_DCS_648_1.0.2.tar.gz #
Untar the file:
# tar xvf gunzip SUN_DCS_648_1.0.2.tar
The extracted files are displayed. The firmware images have the following file name formats:
U-Boot_filename.bin – The U-Boot firmware image.
Linux_filename.kernel – The Linux kernel firmware image.
RootFileSystem_filename.rfs – The root file system firmware image.
Read the README files for information about installing the firmware.
Install the ILOM firmware.
