ProcedureTo Run the Demo on the DB2 RDBMS

Installing the demo consists of three steps:

Before You Begin

You must install your database and the Trade3 application prior to running the demo.

Steps
  1. In the Common Tasks section in the browser interface, click WebSphere 5.1.

  2. Click the Demo Application Configuration for DB2 RDBMS: Configure link.

    The plan's Details page displays.

  3. Click Run.

  4. Click Select From List for the TradeDB2JDBC component.

    1. Click the Create Set link.

    2. Type a Set Name.

    3. Change the default value for dbClasspath.

    4. Click Save and Select.

  5. Click Select From List for the TradeDB2DataSource component.

    1. Click the Create Set link.

    2. Type a Set Name.

    3. Type a value for the db2profile variable.

    4. Click Save.

    5. Click Select.

  6. Select a target host.

  7. Type the cell name for the Deployment Manager or the node name for a Standalone install.

  8. Change the user ID to userID of RDBMS database and password to password of user ID of RDBMS database.

  9. If you have not created the JMS Resources, select the Create JMS Resources check box and type the location of the create script.

  10. Click Run Plan (Includes Preflight).

  11. In the Common Tasks section in the browser interface, click WebSphere 5.1.

  12. Click the Enterprise Applications (EAR): Create link.

    The plan's Details page displays.

  13. Navigate to the EARFileCT path.

  14. Click the Check In Selected Item button.

  15. Click the Check In button.

  16. Click on the component that you created for the archive file.

  17. Click the Run action of Install.

  18. Change the variable installName to trade3.

  19. Check the variable dbType to your database type.

  20. Click Save.

  21. In the Common Tasks section in the browser interface, click WebSphere 5.1.

  22. From Application Server Instances, stop and start the application server instance.

  23. Open a browser window and go to http://servername:9080/trade
