2.2.1 Design Details

The design of the SAN provides the following benefits:

The SAN consists of 2 independent fabrics in a mesh topology. All storage and hosts connect to both fabrics. Each fabric is made up of 3 switches connected through ISL's to form a mesh configuration, as shown in the following figure.

SAN A is redundantly connected to every server node, backup,
storage and tape. SAN B is only connected to backup, storage and tape.
