G Supplement Install Information

The SPARCstation IPX Supplement ensures compatibility with existing GX software used in early SPARCstation IPX systems. The instructions included in this appendix allow you to determine whether or not the supplement has been installed on your SPARCstation IPX.

SPARCstation IPX Supplement Install Verification

To verify that the supplement is installed on your system:

1. At the prompt type:

Any version number less than 1.25 indicates that the SPARCstation IPX Supplement is not installed.

2. Locate the directory that contains OpenWindows Version 2.

For a stand-alone system this is usually /usr/openwin. When OpenWindows is used from an NFS server, this directory may be different. It may be located in /usr/local/openwin.

3. To verify that the supplement is installed type the following commands at the prompt:

If the output does not match the final line in the screen above, the SPARCstation IPX Supplement is not installed.
