The SCSI Expansion Pedestal Service Manual is designed to provide the
qualified service-trained maintenance providers with sufficient information to
effectively remove and replace the various sub-assemblies in the event of
system upgrade or failure.

Chapter 1, Preparing the System for Service, provides the information
necessary to halt and power down the system, and then remove the outer
covers.

Chapter 2, Subassembly Removal and Replacement Procedures, provides the step
by step procedure for removing and replacing the subassemblies.

Chapter 3, Illustrated Parts Breakdown, lists and illustrates all the Field
Replaceable Assemblies, including the part numbers so replacement parts
may be ordered.

Appendix A, SCSI Target Identification for the Sun SCSI Expansion Pedestal
Installed Devices, provides the necessary information for setting the SCSI
Target ID, by location, when replacing a device.

Appendix B, Sun SCSI Device Identification Procedures, shows how to
configure a particular device for the possible Target ID locations in the
Pedestal.
