This book describes how to install the 2.1 Gbyte disk drive into your computer system or expansion unit. This book is written for end-users with a little hardware installation experience, technicians, and system administrators.
The chapter on the Desktop Disk Pack is divided into two parts. The first part explains how to set up the Desktop Disk Pack. The second part explains how to remove and install the disk drive, power supply, and I/O assembly.
The Solaris 1.x Handbook for SMCC Peripherals and the Solaris 2.x Handbook for SMCC Peripherals is also available. These handbooks explain software commands, such as shutting down the system and mounting file systems.
This manual does not include specific software commands or procedures. Instead, it names software tasks and refers you to operating system documentation or the handbook that was shipped with your new hardware.
