What's New in SEAS

The following summarizes the new features included in the SEAS 3.0 release.

• Solaris Web Start for an easy installation.

• Solaris Web Start Wizards^TM for setup and administration of native Solaris and Java^TM applications.

• Solaris Management Console^TM (SMC) to simplify configuring and administering Solaris servers.

• Java management applications for Solaris management of users, groups, network information, file systems, and serial ports.

• User-friendly, Java-based graphical interface for print management functions.

• PC desktop client to server connections without changing the client's desktop. This includes connecting a Windows NT server to a Solaris server.

• Configuration wizards for the following: Basic Routing, Change Root Password, DNS Client Configuration, DNS Server Configuration, and Network Configuration Shutdown.

• Sun Enterprise Authentication Mechanism (SEAM), a client/server architecture that offers strong user authentication, as well as data integrity and privacy, for providing secure transactions over networks.
