Netscape Messaging Server

Sun Cluster HA for Netscape Mail は、Netscape Messaging Server または Netscape Mail のもとで使用できます。この節では、Netscape Messaging Server をインストールし、それを Sun Cluster HA for Netscape Mail データサービスとして実行できるようにする手順を説明します。Netscape Mail を使用する場合は、「Netscape Mail」を参照してください。

Sun Cluster HA for Netscape Mail データサービスは非対称データサービスです。したがって、メールサービスを提供するのはクラスタ内の 1 つの論理ホストだけです。

注 -

Sun Cluster HA for Netscape Mail サービスの障害検証によって /var/log/syslog が短時間でいっぱいになることがあります。これを防ぐには、/etc/syslog.conf ファイルで mail.debug メッセージのログを無効にする必要があります。それには、mail.debug エントリをコメント化し、HUP シグナルを syslogd(1M) デーモンに送信します。

Netscape Messaging Server の概念と特徴

Netscape Messaging Server では、Netscape Mail とは異なる概念と特徴が新たに導入されます。次の各項では、これらの概念や特徴と、Netscape Messaging Server のインストール手順や構成手順を説明します。

サーバールート

Netscape Messaging Server では、サーバールートという概念が導入されます。これは、Netscape Messaging Server のシステム全体とその構成済みインスタンスを含むディレクトリです。ただし、唯一の例外として、/etc/nsserver.cfg ファイルだけがサーバールートに含まれていません。このファイルには、ノードのすべてのサーバールートが列挙されています。Sun Cluster 2.2 では、サーバールートごとに 1 つの Netscape Messaging Server インスタンスしか許可されていません。さらに、論理ホストごとに 1 つのサーバールートしか許されていないため、論理ホストごとに 1 つのインスタンスしか許可されません。

構成ディレクトリサーバーの必要性

Netscape Messaging Server のインストール時には、Netscape Messaging Server から構成ディレクトリサーバーを使用できなければなりません。Netscape Messaging Server は、インストール時に構成ディレクトリサーバーに構成データを入力するためです。Netscape Messaging Server は、最初のインストール後に構成データをローカルキャッシュにコピーするため、これ以後、構成ディレクトリサーバーは必ずしも必須ではありません。構成ディレクトリサーバーが使用できなくなると、Netscape Messaging Server は、自身のローカルキャッシュにある構成データを使って起動することを示す警告メッセージを表示します。このメッセージは無視してかまいません。

Netscape Messaging Server のために Netscape Directory Server をインストールする場合は、さらに Sun Cluster HA for Netscape LDAP のインストールと構成を行ことで、Netscape Directory Server の可用性が高まります。Sun Cluster HA for Netscape LDAP の詳細は、「Netscape Directory Server (LDAP)」を参照してください。

障害監視動作

Netscape Messaging Server には、smtpd、popd、imapd、mshttpd、stored という別個の 5 つのデーモンがあります。これらのデーモンの開始や停止は個別に行うことができます。これらのデーモンは、異常終了する場合、個別に異常終了します。

Sun Cluster HA for Netscape 障害監視では、デーモンプロセスの存在と、プロトコルサービスが使用可能かどうかを検査します。プロセスの存在検査では、障害検証によって、デーモンが存在するかどうかが周期的に確認されます。デーモンが存在しないと、アプリケーションに障害があったものとみなされ、現在の構成パラメータに従ってアクションがとられます。プロトコルの検査では、障害検証によっデーモンが周期的に検査され、タイムアウトを示すエラーコードに対してのみアクションがとられます。サーバーの応答が単に遅いだけでフェイルオーバーが不用意に起るのを防ぐため、Sun Cluster HA for Netscape では、デフォルトのタイムアウト値は 660 秒に設定されています。

この障害監視モデルでは完全にアクティブなメールサーバーが前提になるため、デーモンを停止しなければならない管理作業を行う場合は、(hareg -n を使って) Sun Cluster HA for Netscape データサービスを必ずオフにする必要があります。そうしないと、障害検証によってアクションがとられます。データサービスは、管理作業が終ってから (hareg -y を使って) オンにしてください。

Sun Cluster HA for Netscape による監視では、smtpd、popd、imapd デーモンに対しプロセスの存在検査 (ローカル検証を使用) とプロトコルの検証 (ローカル検証とリモート検証を使用)が両方とも行われます。mshttpd と stored デーモンに対しては、プロセスの存在検査 (ローカル検証を使用) だけが行われます。mshttpd と stored デーモンにはリモート検証が行われないため、mshttpd プロセスが存在し、停止していても、Sun Cluster HA for Netscape はアクションをとりません。したがって、Web メールクライアントが接続できない場合は、mshttpd プロセスを手作業で再起動する必要があります。

Sun Cluster HA for Netscape では、SNMP サブエージェントの監視は行われません。

ユーザー/グループディレクトリの使用

Netscape Messaging Server では、ユーザー/グループディレクトリを使用します (Netscape Mail 3.5 ではオプションでした)。ユーザー/グループディレクトリは、メッセージングサーバーが電子メールの処理に使用する LDAP ディレクトリです。ユーザー/グループディレクトリを構成する前にメッセージングサーバーのインストールや起動を行うことはできますが、メッセージングサーバーのインストール後は、メッセージングサーバーからユーザー/グループディレクトリにアクセスできなければなりません。この前提条件があるため、ユーザー/グループディレクトリを提供するディレクトリサーバーは、多重ホストディスクか、クラスタ化された別のサーバーにインストールすべきです。それによって、可用性が高まります。

構成ディレクトリとユーザー/グループディレクトリは、同じディレクトリサーバーインスタンスで提供することも、異なるインスタンスで提供することもできます。

Netscape Messaging Server 構成の制約

Sun Cluster 2.2 で動作する Netscape Messaging Server には、次の前提条件と制約事項があります。

Netscape Messaging Server のインストールでは、リスナーデーモン popd、smtpd、imapd、mshttpd、stored を構成するときに、それぞれをアクティブにし、それぞれのデフォルトポートを指定する必要があります。そうしないと、起動プログラムと障害監視プログラムは、これらのデーモンが非アクティブであるものとみなし、現在の構成パラメータに従ってアクションをとります。さらに、これら 2 つの条件が満たされないと、Netscape Messaging Server は正しく起動されません。詳細は、「障害監視動作」を参照してください。
サーバールートごとに 1 つの Netscape Messaging Server インスタンスしか構成できません。また、論理ホストごとに 1 つのサーバールートしか構成できません。したがって、論理ホストごとに 1 つの Netscape Messaging Server インスタンスしか構成できません。
Sun Cluster 2.2 では、Netscape Messaging Server の Multiplexor 機能はサポートされません。Multiplexor はサーバールートの外にあるサービスを必要とするため、Multiplexor の検証やフェイルオーバーを Sun Cluster HA for Netscape で行えないためです。
Netscape Messaging Server はその一部のプロトコルに対し SSL 対応の待機をサポートしますが、Sun Cluster HA for Netscape は、SSL を使用する個々のポートの障害検証は行いません。ただし、SSL 対応ポートで待機する Netscape Messaging Server インスタンスに対し、基本的な再起動とフェイルオーバーをサポートします。
Netscape Messaging Server は SMTP プラグインをサポートします。SMTP プラグインとは、Netscape Messaging Server で独自の SMTP 処理を行うためにインストールおよび構成する共有ライブラリです。Netscape Messaging Server の構成で SMTP プラグインの使用を指定する場合は、Sun Cluster で共有ライブラリを保護する必要があります。それには、これらのライブラリを共有ディスクに (できるだけ、Netscape Messaging Server のサーバールートツリー内に) 置くか、マスターノードになる可能性がある各ノードのローカルディスクに置きます。
Netscape Messaging Server は、TCP ベースのサービス (IMAP、POP、HTTP、SMTP) に対し、サービスごとに高度なアクセス制御をサポートします。この機能を有効にするには、サーバーへのアクセスを選別するフィルタを作成します。ただし、フィルタを作成する場合は、マスターになったノード上の root が Netscape Messaging Server プロトコルサーバーに接続するのを妨げないように注意が必要です。root がいずれかのプロトコルサーバーへの接続を妨げられると、プロトコルサービスが使用可能かどうかを検査するデータサービス検証が失敗し、Sun Cluster HA for Netscape が現在の構成パラメータに従ってアクションをとります。この動作は、問題のフィルタが削除されるか、検証が終了するまで無制限に続きます。プロトコルサーバーのマスターになる可能性があるすべてのノードからの root アクセスは常に可能でなければなりません。

Netscape Messaging Server のインストール

次の手順に従って、Sun Cluster と共に Netscape Messaging Service をインストールします。

1 つのクラスタノードのみに Netscape Messaging Service をインストールします。共有ディスク上にある 1 つのサーバールートすべてのコンポーネントをインストールします (「サーバールート」を参照してください)。フェイルオーバーやスイッチオーバーの場合、このサーバールートは必要に応じて自動的に他のノードでも使用可能になります。

クラスタに固有なガイドラインは適宜説明します。インストールするにはスーパーユーザー特権が必要です。

Netscape Messaging Server をインストールするには

この手順の各例では、論理ホスト名を hahost1、Netscape Messaging Server インスタンス名を nms、LDAP インスタンス名を ldap とします。

クラスタにユーザーアカウントを作成します。

クラスタコンソールで次のコマンドを実行します。ユーザーアカウントには任意の名前を使用できます。デフォルトは mailsrv です。

scinstall(1M) コマンドを使って Netscape Messaging Server をインストールします。

port number, the suffix, and the DN and password of a user having 
permission to write the configuration information, usually the 
Netscape configuration directory administrator.

The Administration Domain is a part of the configuration directory
server used to store information about Netscape software. If you 
are managing multiple software releases at the same time, or 
managing information about multiple domains, you may use the 
Administration Domain to keep them separate.

the administration domain, such as the name of the organization 
responsible for managing the domain.

to another directory server. This can be used for failsafe 
purposes, to ensure that the directory data is always online and
