Upgrading from SIMS 2.0

Before upgrading to SIMS 3.5 from SIMS 2.0, do the following steps:

Unlike the imaccessd daemon that runs as root and delivers mail to /var/mail, the daemon that delivers mail to the SIMS Message Store is owned by the postmaster user id, inetmail (not root). The SIMS Message Store meets stringent security standards. Migrating to the Sun Message Store ensures that your mail server is secured.

	1.	Backup your mail messages under the /var/mail directory.
	2.	Use the `pkgrm` command to remove the existing SIMS 2.0 packages: `SUNWimap`, `SUNWipop`.
	3.	Decide whether to migrate your existing user mail messages and folders from `/var/mail` to the secured SIMS Message Store or continue to support `/var/mail` users.
	4.	Use the `imimportmbox` utility to migrate /var/mail to SIMS Message Store. See the Sun Internet Mail Server 3.5 Administrator's Guide for more information on using this utility.
