Operating Systems

This section lists the operating systems that are supported for Sun ONE Application Server 7.

Note

The Sun Solaris™ and Microsoft Windows operating systems are certified with J2SE1.4.0_02 from Sun Microsystems. The Linux operating system is certified with J2SE1.4.1 from Sun Microsystems. The HP-UX operating system is certified with J2SE 1.4.0_02 from Hewlett-Packard. Subsequent releases of the Sun ONE Application Server product are expected to be interoperable, but some unexpected problems may arise.

Note	Sun ONE Application Server for HP-UX is certified with a J2SE that is provided and supported by Hewlett-Packard. Sun cannot provide product support for the HP J2SE.

Database Drivers

---

The Sun ONE Application Server 7 product is designed to support connectivity to any database management system with a corresponding JDBC driver. The following table lists the components that Sun has tested and found to be acceptable for constructing J2EE-compatible database configurations.

Additional drivers have been tested to meet the JDBC requirements of the J2EE 1.3 platform with the following JDBC Driver Certification Program:

These drivers can be used for JDBC connectivity with the Sun ONE Application Server. Although Sun offers no product support for these drivers, we will support the use of these drivers with the Sun ONE Application Server.
