Sun ONE Application Server 7 Platform Summary

This document provides the specifics on supported platform components for the Sun™ Open Net Environment (ONE) Application Server 7, Update 2 product.

Operating Systems

This section lists the operating systems that are supported for the Update 2 release.



Note	The Sun ONE Application Server 7, Update 2 product is tested with J2SE1.4.1_04 from Sun Microsystems. Subsequent releases of the Sun ONE Application Server product are expected to be interoperable, but some unexpected problems may arise.



Note	Sun ONE Application Server 7, Update 2 supports JDK 1.4.2. If you are using the appclient script feature with JDK 1.4.2, please refer to the Sun ONE Application Server 7 Release Notes for more information.



Note	Third party J2SEs, even with appropriate version numbers, are not supported.

JDBC Drivers and Databases

The Sun ONE Application Server 7 product is designed to support connectivity to any database management system with a corresponding JDBC driver. The following table lists the components that Sun has tested and found to be acceptable for constructing J2EE-compatible database configurations for the Update 2 release.

These drivers can be used for JDBC connectivity with the Sun ONE Application Server. Although Sun offers no product support for these drivers, we will support the use of these drivers with the Sun ONE Application Server 7 product.
