Preface |
This guide describes how to install, configure, and use Local Patch Server, henceforth referred to as LPS.
Instead of downloading patches and metadata from the Sun patch server to each of your systems, you can perform one download of the patch data to your LPS. After the patch data is stored on this server, patch data is transferred to your client systems for analysis over your intranet instead of over the Internet.
Using an LPS addresses security concerns as well as system analysis and patch download performance issues.
This document contains one chapter that describes how to install, configure, and uninstall LPS. This chapter also provides information about how to troubleshoot problems that are related to LPS.
The # prompt indicates that you are at a root prompt.
The documents listed below include the software installation guide for the Sun Control Station CC Edition software, and the documentation related to the individual control modules.
