Field Types
When creating a field, you select a specific field type. The field type determines the types of values that the end user can enter into this field.
For each field type, you will need to configure Additional Attributes.
The available field types are:
- (Y)es or (N)o – field accepts Y or N, or Yes or No, depending on the field length
- Alphabetic – field accepts alphabetic letters
- Alphanumeric – field accepts alphabetic letters and numers
- Barcode – field displays entered data in a corresponding barcode format
- Custom – field accepts data based on the field type that is customized by a systems integrator
- Date format – field accepts a date value in the selected format
- Int’l Alphabetic – field accepts only alphabetic characters from an international keyboard
- Int’l Alphanumeric – field accepts alphabetic characters and numbers from an international keyboard
- Int’l Uppercase Alphabetic – field accepts only uppercase alphabetic characters from an international keyboard; all inputted text will be converted to uppercase
- Int’l Uppercase Alphanumeric – field accepts only uppercase alphabetic characters and numbers from an international keyboard; all inputted text will be converted to uppercase
- Multi-line Text - field accepts multiple lines of text
- Numeric – field accepts only numbers and specific numeric data entry characters
- Table Only – field accepts only data from a table; the user cannot enter data
- Time format – field accepts a time value in the selected format
- Uppercase Alphabetic – field accepts only uppercase alphabetic characters; all inputted text will be converted to uppercase
- Uppercase Alphanumeric – field accepts only uppercase alphabetic characters and numbers; all inputted text will be converted to uppercase
- X or space – field accepts a X or a blank space
