How to Connect to the Server Locally (Physical Console)

If you plan to interact with the system console directly, make the connections described in this procedure. See Attaching Administration (SP) Cables for the locations of the system connectors.

Before You Begin

Perform the hardware setup as described in the hardware setup documentation.

  1. Connect a multiport cable to the SP, as shown in Attaching Administration (SP) Cables.
  2. Connect a mouse and a keyboard to the USB connectors on the multiport cable.
  3. Connect a VGA monitor to the video connector on the multiport cable.
