Before You Begin

One-Time Setup Steps for Java CAPS

  1. Ensure your system meets the prerequisites. For complete information, refer to the installation documentation and Release Notes. Examples might include:

    • At least 2.5 GB free disk space for the installed files

    • At least 160 MB RAM for each repository server

    • At least 640 MB RAM for each machine running the NetBeans IDE

    • At least 640 MB RAM for each application server

    • JDK 1.6 update 20 (refer to the installation documentation for specific platform requirements)

  2. Ensure you have access to all external systems with which Java CAPS will need to communicate. Examples might include:

    • Path names to local files

    • Passwords for secure FTP server

    • Hostname of Oracle database server

    • Oracle Advance Queues or WebLogic JMS properties

    • Parameters for communicating with SAP repository

  3. Install Java CAPS, referring as needed to the installation documentation or the quick installation steps. The standard installation installs all JBI components, but not all Java EE components. You may need to perform additional post-installation steps to make sure all required products are installed.

  4. As needed, configure external systems to communicate with Java CAPS. Specific steps vary widely from system to system. Examples might include:

    • Upload LDAP schema files

    • Run SQL scripts

    • Create and configure PeopleSoft nodes

    • Configure CICS security settings and connection logic

    • Install and initialize remote APIs for SWIFT AG
