Chapter 6

Configuring Clients Outside of the Cluster

This chapter provides information about configuring a Sun QFS shared file system operating in an Oracle Solaris Cluster environment to support automated metadata server failover while providing file system access for clients that are not members of the Oracle Solaris Cluster configuration. This feature is commonly referred to as “Clients Outside of The Cluster” (COTC).

Note - Before performing any COTC tasks, make sure that you are familiar with information about shared and local host tables.
