D.3 Issue with Profiling Samples in Oracle JRockit Virtual Edition

While using the Method Profiling Sample event of Oracle JRockit Flight Recorder, only a few method samples are recorded in Oracle JRockit Virtual Edition. In standard Oracle JRockit, the profiling samples have higher resolution than the samples you get while using the Method Hotspot Sample event. In Oracle JRockit Virtual Edition, the hotspot samples have very high resolution than the profiling samples. The hotspot samples are not generated if profiling samples are enabled.

Workaround

Before you start recording by using Oracle JRockit Flight Recorder, disable the Method Profiling Sample event. For more information about how to disable a profiling event, see Oracle JRockit Mission Control Online Help.
