Note: The default RMI port for new environments is 8860. If this port is not correct for your system, then when you create an environment in Search Administration, Search Administration cannot connect to it until you change that setting. To do so:
In Search Administration go to Browse Projects > Your Project > Environments > Host Name > Advanced Settings.
Change the Default RMI Port setting.
Click Save.
