23 Reports Bridge

This chapter describes Oracle Reports Bridge metrics.

23.1 Log Message Alerts

This category provides information about log message alerts.

23.1.1 Log Monitoring Rules

The log monitoring rules

Target Version Key Evaluation and Collection Frequency Upload Frequency Operator Default Warning Threshold Default Critical Threshold Alert Text
All Versions odl_message_alert_rule_name: "MSG-110" Not Defined After Every Sample MATCH YES Not Defined [%odl_message_alert_rule_name%] matched %odl_message_alert_occurence_count% log message(s) since last scan. Message Text for the last matching message is as follows - [ %odl_message_alert_matching_text% ].
All Versions null Not Defined After Every Sample MATCH Not Defined Not Defined [%odl_message_alert_rule_name%] matched %odl_message_alert_occurence_count% log message(s) since last scan. Message Text for the last matching message is as follows - [ %odl_message_alert_matching_text% ].

* Once an alert is triggered for this metric, it must be manually cleared.

Multiple Thresholds

For this metric you can set different warning and critical threshold values for each unique combination of "Alert Rule Name" and "Occurrence Time" objects.

If warning or critical threshold values are currently set for any unique combination of "Alert Rule Name" and "Occurrence Time" objects, those thresholds can be viewed on the Metric Detail page for this metric.

To specify or change warning or critical threshold values for each unique combination of "Alert Rule Name" and "Occurrence Time" objects, use the Edit Thresholds page. See "Editing Metrics" for information on accessing the Edit Thresholds page.

23.2 Diagnostic Log Summary

This category provides information about diagnostic log summary metrics.

23.2.1 Log Error Messages (over 15 minutes)

The log error messages over 15 minutes.

Target Version Evaluation and Collection Frequency Upload Frequency Operator Default Warning Threshold Default Critical Threshold Alert Text
All Versions Every 15 Minutes After Every Sample > Not Defined Not Defined Error message rate is %value%, crossed warning (%warning_threshold%) or critical(%critical_threshold%) threshold.

23.2.2 Log Incident Error Messages (over 15 minutes)

Log incident error messages over 15 minutes

Target Version Evaluation and Collection Frequency Upload Frequency Operator Default Warning Threshold Default Critical Threshold Alert Text
All Versions Every 15 Minutes After Every Sample > Not Defined Not Defined Incident Error message rate is %value%, crossed warning (%warning_threshold%) or critical(%critical_threshold%) threshold.

23.2.3 Log Notification Messages (over 15 minutes)

Log notification messages over 15 minutes

Target Version Evaluation and Collection Frequency Upload Frequency Operator Default Warning Threshold Default Critical Threshold Alert Text
All Versions Every 15 Minutes After Every Sample > Not Defined Not Defined Notification message rate is %value%, crossed warning (%warning_threshold%) or critical(%critical_threshold%) threshold.

23.2.4 Log Trace Messages (over 15 minutes)

Log trace messages over 15 minutes

Target Version Evaluation and Collection Frequency Upload Frequency Operator Default Warning Threshold Default Critical Threshold Alert Text
All Versions Every 15 Minutes After Every Sample > Not Defined Not Defined Trace message rate is %value%, crossed warning (%warning_threshold%) or critical(%critical_threshold%) threshold.

23.2.5 Log Unknown Messages (over 15 minutes)

The log of unknown messages over 15 minutes

Target Version Evaluation and Collection Frequency Upload Frequency Operator Default Warning Threshold Default Critical Threshold Alert Text
All Versions Every 15 Minutes After Every Sample > Not Defined Not Defined Unknown message rate is %value%, crossed warning (%warning_threshold%) or critical(%critical_threshold%) threshold.

23.2.6 Log Warning Messages (over 15 minutes)

Log warning messages over 15 minutes

Target Version Evaluation and Collection Frequency Upload Frequency Operator Default Warning Threshold Default Critical Threshold Alert Text
All Versions Every 15 Minutes After Every Sample > Not Defined Not Defined Warning message rate is %value%, crossed warning (%warning_threshold%) or critical(%critical_threshold%) threshold.

23.3 Remote Elements Discovered

Provides information on Bridges and Servers discovered.

23.3.1 Host.value

This metric specifies the host name of the machine in which the remote element is located.

23.3.2 Name

This metric specifies the name of the remote element.

23.3.3 Discovery Time (ms)

This metric specifies the time taken to discover the remote element.

User Action

If the time taken to complete this action is high, check for any network issues. Also, tune the timeout parameter in the bridge configuration file to allow for high discovery time.

23.3.4 Type of Element

This metric specifies the type of the remote element. Type can be "Server" or "Bridge".

23.4 Resource Usage

This category provides information about resource usage metrics.

23.4.1 CPU Usage (%)

This metric specifies the percentage of CPU usage.

The following table shows how often the metric's value is collected.

Target Version Collection Frequency
All Versions Every 5 Minutes

23.4.2 Memory Usage (MB)

This metric specifies the memory used (in megabytes).

The following table shows how often the metric's value is collected.

Target Version Collection Frequency
All Versions Every 5 Minutes

23.4.3 Memory Usage (%)

This metric specifies the percentage of total memory used.

The following table shows how often the metric's value is collected.

Target Version Collection Frequency
All Versions Every 5 Minutes

23.5 Response

Provides information about the status of Reports Bridge, Up or Down.

23.5.1 Up or Down Status

This metric specifies the status of Reports Bridge. Status can be Up or Down.

Target Version Evaluation and Collection Frequency Upload Frequency Operator Default Warning Threshold Default Critical Threshold Alert Text
All Versions Every Minute After Every 60 Samples = Not Defined 0 %target% is down

User Action

If status is down, see the Report log files or use EM log viewer to find out why the Reports Bridge is down.
