This appendix lists the profile options that you can set to configure Oracle Workflow.
This appendix covers the following topics:
You can set the following profile options to configure Oracle Workflow. See: Overview of Setting User Profiles, Oracle E-Business Suite Setup Guide and Profile Categories, Oracle E-Business Suite Setup Guide.
If your site has implemented single sign-on with Oracle Directory Services, this profile option determines how users can log in to Oracle E-Business Suite.
SSO - User passwords are maintained only in Oracle Directory Services. Users must log in to Oracle E-Business Suite through single sign-on.
Local - User passwords are maintained only in Oracle Application Object Library. Users must log in through the local Oracle E-Business Suite login page.
Both - User passwords are maintained both in Oracle Directory Services and in Oracle Application Object Library. Users can log in to Oracle E-Business Suite either through single sign-on or through the local Oracle E-Business Suite login page. A user's single sign-on password can be different than that user's Oracle Application Object Library password.
Oracle Workflow supports password-based signatures for notifications based on Oracle Application Object Library passwords. If you have implemented single sign-on, you must set this profile option to either Local or Both for all users who need to enter password-based signatures. You must also ensure that these users have valid passwords defined in Oracle Application Object Library. See: Implementing Password-based Signatures with Single Sign-On.
Users can view this profile option but cannot update it.
System administrators can view and update this profile option only at the site and user levels.
The internal name for this profile option is APPS_SSO_LOCAL_LOGIN.
This profile option belongs to the Single Sign-On Deployment (FND_SSO_DEPLOYMENT) profile category in the Application Object Library application.
For more information, see: Overview of Single Sign-On Integration, Oracle E-Business Suite Security Guide.
This profile option specifies the external web entry point for your Oracle E-Business Suite instance when your instance is set up in a DMZ configuration. Notification mailers use this external agent to generate the links for the Notification Detail Link attachment in email notifications sent to users who are designated as external users with the role WF_EXTERNAL_ROLE
. In this way external users without access to your intranet, such as suppliers, can access links to this Oracle E-Business Suite content from workflow notifications. If this profile option is not set, notification mailers will use the default Web agent specified in the Application Framework Agent profile option. See: Setting Up Notification Mailers.
Users can view and update this profile option.
System administrators can view and update this profile option only at the site and user levels.
The internal name for this profile option is FND_FRAMEWORK_EXTERNAL_AGENT.
This profile option lets you specify whether to display a tip message in the Oracle E-Business Suite home page that informs the user how many open notifications are in his or her worklist. The message also requests the user to view and respond to these notifications. See: Displaying the Number of Open Notifications in the Oracle E-Business Suite Home Page.
Yes - The tip message listing the number of open notifications for the user appears on the Oracle E-Business Suite home page.
No - The tip message is disabled. This setting is the default value for this profile option.

If you have event subscriptions that invoke business process execution language (BPEL) processes specified by a Web Services Description Language (WSDL) description, this profile option lets you specify the host name and port of the BPEL server. When this profile option is set, you can use relative URLs rather than absolute URLs in the subscription parameters to specify the location of the WSDL descriptions for the BPEL processes.
At runtime, Oracle Workflow replaces the bpel://
prefix in the relative URLs with the host name and port for the BPEL server specified in the WF: BPEL Server profile option. In this way, the profile option lets you quickly change the BPEL server setup for all subscriptions that invoke BPEL processes, such as if you move these subscription definitions from a test instance to a production instance. See: Specifying the BPEL Server and Invoking a Web Service, Oracle Workflow Developer's Guide.
Set the WF: BPEL Server profile option to the host name and port of the BPEL server using the following format:
http://<host_name>:<port>/
Note: The profile option value must end with a slash (/
) in order to form the final WSDL description URL correctly.
Users can view this profile option but cannot update it.
System administrators can view and update this profile option only at site level.
The internal name for this profile option is WF_BPEL_SERVER.
This profile option lets you specify whether a notification recipient can reassign the notification to the following users:
The process owner who initiated the workflow
The from role for the notification
See: Setting the WF: Disable Reassign to Submitter Profile Option, To Reassign a Notification to Another User, Oracle Workflow User's Guide, Vacation Rules, Oracle Workflow User's Guide, and Defining Vacation Rules for Users.
Yes - Notifications cannot be reassigned to the process owner who initiated the workflow or the from role for the notification.

This profile option specifies the host and port of the Web server that notification mailers use to generate the content for Oracle Application Framework regions that are embedded in notifications. If this profile option is not set, notification mailers will use the same Web agent specified in the Application Framework Agent profile option. However, on a load-balanced Web server, notification mailers might not be able to render Oracle Application Framework content within a notification. In this case, set the WF: Workflow Mailer Framework Web Agent profile option to a physical host, instead of a virtual host. See: Setting Up Notification Mailers.
Users can view and update this profile option.
System administrators can view and update this profile option only at site level.
The internal name for this profile option is WF_MAIL_WEB_AGENT.
This profile option belongs to the Workflow (FND_WORKFLOW) profile category in the Application Object Library application.
This profile option specifies the maximum size of Oracle Workflow email notifications, including the email body and any attachments. For example, if your mail server restricts the size of emails that can be sent, you can use this profile option to ensure that Oracle Workflow emails remain within the allowed size.
Out of the size limit you specify in this profile option, Oracle Workflow reserves 200 KB for the email body. If adding the attachments would cause the email to exceed the specified size, then Oracle Workflow does not include those attachments in the email, but instead displays a note in the email indicating that one or more attachments could not be included. In this case, the user must access the notification through the Worklist pages to view the attachments. See: Setting Up Notification Mailers.
Users cannot view or update this profile option.
System administrators can view and update this profile option only at site level.
