Links to a URL can appear in several locations in the content. Listed below are the locations where you can create these links and the methods for linking them.
- Concept for modules, sections and topics
In the Outline Editor, select Create link in the Concept pane, and select URL in the Link to pane. See Link an Attachment as a Concept: Outline Editor in the Link Attachments section of the Enhance Content with Attachments chapter.
In the Topic Editor, display the Concept pane, select Create link, and select URL in the Link to pane. See Link an Attachment as a Concept: Topic Editor in the Link Attachments section of the Enhance Content with Attachments chapter.
- Link in a web page (embeds the URL link in the web page)
In the Web Page Editor, select the text or an image, on the Insert menu, choose Hyperlink, and select URL in the Link to pane. See Insert a Hyperlink in the Enhance Content with Web Pages section of the Enhance Content with Attachments chapter.
- Link in a topic frame
In the Topic Editor, display the Frame Link pane, select Create link, and select URL in the Link to pane. See Link to an Attachment from a Topic Frame in the Link Attachments section of the Enhance Content with Attachments chapter.
- Link frame text
In the Topic Editor, select the bubble text, select Bubble text link in the Frame Properties pane, and select URL in the Link to pane. See Link to an Attachment from Bubble Text in the Link Attachments section of the Enhance Content with Attachments chapter.
- Glossary definition
In the Glossary Editor, add a new term, select the Definition Link cell and the Browse button, select Create link, and select URL in the Link to pane. See Select a Definition Link Attachment in the Define Glossary Terms chapter.
Note: Although you can link images from a URL, relative URLs do not apply to images.
