Applying Quick Query Limits

This procedure describes applying quick query limits only in a runtime dashboard.

*  To apply and save quick query limits:

  1. In Interactive Reporting Studio, open a dashboard that is configured with the Quick Query Limits component.

    HYSL Query Login is displayed if connection to a database is required. If a connection is not required, the dashboard opens to Query Panel, if this is configured as the Startup section. See Setting Query Panel as the Startup Section.

  2. In HYSL Query Login, enter log on details, and click OK.

    If Quickquerylimits_sample_esm.bqy is used, click OK, without entering log on details.

    Query Panel is displayed.

  3. Select the query limit values by using the dashboard developer configured controls.

    Several buttons can be associated with a control to make it easier to select, add, or clear values. See Control Buttons and Guidelines.

  4. Click Apply Values button to apply the selected values.

    Selected values are displayed in Currently Selected Query Limits.

  5. Optional: Save a set of query limit values by clicking Favorites button.

  6. Click Process Queries button to process the queries.

    If Allow Custom Process is enabled, a drop-down list is displayed. Process all queries or one query. If only one query is available or if custom processing is not set, all available queries are processed when Process Queries button is clicked.

    If the dashboard designer allowed multi-selection for query processing, a list box is displayed. Select one or more queries to process and click Process button.

    To get rid of the list box without processing, click any area in the list box below the query values to deselect all values and click Process button.
