Layout Preferences

PreferenceDescription

Layout Mode

Graphic Layout creates reports to print on graphical printers, such as Postscript printers. Character Layout creates reports to print on non-graphical printers, such as line printers. (Changes to the layout mode take effect in the next new report, they do not affect the currently-open report.)

Configure Default Layout

Accesses the Configure Default Layout dialog box, where you can define information about how objects and headings will appear and how group breaks will operate in the default report layout. (Changes to the default layout take effect in the next new report that you create, they do not affect the report that is currently open.)

Locations in Default Layout

Defines where to print page numbers and the date/time.

  • The default location for page numbers is Top Right. If you select None, page numbers will not print in your report.

  • The default location for the date/time is Top Left. If you select None, the date/time will not print in your report.

(Changes in this field take effect in the next new report that you create.)

Date/Time

Enter the format for the date. The default (such as MM/DD/YYYY) depends on your database. If you select DATE-EDIT-MASK, the date is defined in SQR.INI. If you select None, the date will not print.

Enter a format for the time. The default (such as HH24:MI) depends on your database. If you select None, the time will not print.

(Changes to the date/time settings apply to date/time objects in the current report and to date/time objects in new reports.)

Number Format

  • Defined on Format Page defines the information on the property page for each formatted object.

  • NUMBER-EDIT-MASK uses the numeric settings defined in the [local...] section of SQR.INI.

  • MONEY-EDIT-MASK uses the currency settings defined in SQR.INI. Set a Locale in [Default-Settings] by using the syntax locale=US-English.

Several locales are available by default, or you can define your own. For information on setting up Locale, MONEY-EDIT-MASK, or NUMBER-EDIT-MASK settings in SQR.INI, see Volume 2 in the Hyperion SQR Production Reporting Developer's Guide.

(Changes to the number format apply to numeric properties in the next new report, they do not affect the current report.)
