How to Enable ILB

  1. Become an administrator.

    For more information, see Using Your Assigned Administrative Rights in Securing Users and Processes in Oracle Solaris 11.2 .

  2. Enable the appropriate forwarding service, either IPv4 or IPv6 or both of them.

    This command produces no output when successful.

    # ipadm set-prop -p forwarding=on ipv4
    # ipadm set-prop -p forwarding=on ipv6
  3. Enable the ILB service.
    # svcadm enable ilb 
  4. Verify that the ILB service is enabled.
    # svcs ilb

    This command displays information about service instances as recorded in the service configuration repository.
