The first task for setting up a dial-out PPP system is to configure the devices on the serial line: the modem and serial port.
Before performing the following procedure, you must have completed the following steps:
Installed the Oracle Solaris release on the dial-out system
Determined the optimum modem speed
Decided which serial port to use on the dial-out system
Obtained the root password for the dial-out system
