The Publishing Web agent is a service that runs on target site’s Web servers, and manages deployment of file assets on them. It includes the virtual file system (VFS) WWWFileSystem, which is configured out-of-the-box to facilitate deployment of Web content (static text and binary files) to the Web server. Like the corresponding VFS on the asset management server, this VFS is located in Nucleus at:

/atg/epub/file/WWWFileSystem

The Publishing Web agent must be installed manually.

Note: Directories on your HTTP server that are associated with the VFS for WWWFileSystem will be erased during a full deployment. Any files that you may have manually added will be lost. Additionally, you have added files to the WWWFileSystem, when the Publishing Web agent attempts to delete these files, it may not have sufficient permissions, and an error may occur. To avoid this error, any files that you add manually to the VFS content should have file permissions consistent with the accounts used to run the Publishing Web agent.
