public final class HeaderGroup
extends java.lang.Object

A HeaderGroup co-ordinates the display of components under a Header, hiding and showing them as required as the header is toggled.

The intent here is that, rather than adding the components under a header to a JPanel or other container, you associate them with a HeaderGroup instead (in much the same way that ButtonGroup works for toggle buttons). This gives you the freedom to have a single layout across all collapsable regions.
