Roadmap: Working with automatic queries

Based on the validation rules defined for items within forms, the OutcomeLogix application automatically issues queries as you submit forms. A site user, typically an investigator or clinical research coordinator, answers automatic queries.

The OutcomeLogix application issues an automatic query.

 

  1. Enter data into a form.

    As you enter data into a form, you skip a field that requires an entry or type a value that does not conform to certain criteria.

  2. Click Submit.

    The OutcomeLogix application displays an Open query status icon () next to the item and in the Status field at the top of the form.

Answer the query while the form is still open.

  1. Enter or change the value that was queried.
  2. Click Submit.

    The Reason for Change dialog box appears, displaying each form item changed.

  3. For each item, select the reason you changed the field value from the Reason drop-down list. If you select Other, type the reason in the Response text box.

    or

    • Apply the same reason to all items changed:
    • From the Group RFC drop-down list, select the reason for change. If you selected Other, type the reason in the Response text box.
    • Click the Apply All link.
  4. Click Submit.

    The Open query status icon changes to the Approved query status icon if the response satisfies the query reason (Query status icon. Approved.).

Answer automatic queries from the Query List page.

 

  1. Select Queries (1Queries_icon).

    The Query List page appears.

  2. Select an open query that was automatically generated by clicking a field that is not underlined.
    • The value in the Issued by column is System.

      The query information appears on the Query Detail page on the Answer tab.

  3. On the Answer tab in the Change Data field, change or leave the value.
  4. From the Site Response drop-down list, select the reason for the changed answer.
  5. If you select Other, type the reason in the Site Response Other Text box.
  6. Click Submit.
