Based on the validation rules defined for items within forms, the OutcomeLogix application automatically issues queries as you submit forms. A site user, typically an investigator or clinical research coordinator, answers automatic queries.

| The OutcomeLogix application issues an automatic query.
| - Enter data into a form.
As you enter data into a form, you skip a field that requires an entry or type a value that does not conform to certain criteria.
- Click Submit.
The OutcomeLogix application displays an Open query status icon ( ) next to the item and in the Status field at the top of the form.

| Answer the query while the form is still open.
| - Enter or change the value that was queried.
- Click Submit.
The Reason for Change dialog box appears, displaying each form item changed.
- For each item, select the reason you changed the field value from the Reason drop-down list. If you select Other, type the reason in the Response text box.

- Apply the same reason to all items changed:
- From the Group RFC drop-down list, select the reason for change. If you selected Other, type the reason in the Response text box.
- Click the Apply All link.
- Click Submit.
The Open query status icon changes to the Approved query status icon if the response satisfies the query reason ( ).

| Answer automatic queries from the Query List page.
| - Select Queries (
).The Query List page appears.
- Select an open query that was automatically generated by clicking a field that is not underlined.
- On the Answer tab in the Change Data field, change or leave the value.
- From the Site Response drop-down list, select the reason for the changed answer.
- If you select Other, type the reason in the Site Response Other Text box.
- Click Submit.
