Setting a temporary password for a patient

Typically, you set a temporary password for a patient when:

Note: When you reset a password, the new password does not appear in the profile. When you set a temporary password, the new password appears in the profile and the password must be changed immediately. For more information, see Resetting a patient password.

Before you can set a temporary password for a patient:

  1. Select Patients (Patients icon. Click to navigate to the Patient List page.).

    The Patient List page appears.

  2. Select the radio button for the patient.
  3. Click Set Temporary Password.

    A dialog box appears, showing the Memorable Date for the patient.

  4. Confirm the Memorable Date for the patient.
  5. Click Set Temporary Password in the dialog box.

    The read-only Temporary Password field appears with the password. For most studies, you provide the temporary password over the phone.
