Setting a temporary password for a user

Typically, a user with the appropriate rights sets a temporary password for a user when:

Note: When you reset a password, the new password does not appear in the profile. When you set a temporary password, the new password appears in the profile and the user must change the password immediately. For more information, see Resetting a user password.

  1. Select Administration (Administration icon. Click to navigate to the Administration page.).
  2. Click Manage Users.

    The Manage Users page appears.

  3. Click the Profile link for the user.

    The User Profile page appears.

  4. Click Set Temporary Password.

    The read-only Temporary Password field appears with the password. For most studies, you provide the temporary password over the phone.
