Reporting a major medical event in the Call Center

Serious or major medical events can be reported in different ways, depending on the study requirements. For example, sites might enter data into EDC forms, or call centers might complete major medical event forms that are set up in the study. For more information, see Reporting a major medical event.

As a Call Center staff member, you can help a patient report a major medical event.

  1. Select Call Center List (Icon. Click to navigate to Call Center List page.).

    The Call Center List page appears.

  2. Click the Patient ID link of a patient. If the patient is not listed, use the search options to locate the patient. To see only the patients who are in the call queue, select the Patients Due search filter.

    The Call Center Patient Details page appears. For more information, see Call Center Patient Details page.

    If the patient is not in the call queue, a message appears at the top of the patient profile indicating that the patient has no diaries to complete.

  3. Click the Call Center Intake Form button.

    The major medical events form appears.

  4. Fill in the fields as necessary.
  5. Click Submit.

Note: At any time during the course of a study, you can click the Call Center Intake Form button to log a medical event.
