Files are deployed directly from the appropriate source component on the Oracle Commerce Platform server to the component with the same path on the target. Thus, in the case of file deployment, there is no need to create additional destination components on the source server as there is for repository item deployments. Other than setting up the source and target VFS components, the only other step required for file deployments is as follows: by default, the FileDeploymentServer uses port 8810 to communicate with the target. Depending on your environment, you might need to open this port in your target server’s firewall. If you need to change the port that is used, you can do so by adding an /atg/deployment/file/FileDeploymentServer.properties file to the target’s localconfig directory, and setting the port as follows:
