Customer comments

Adventist Health System has implemented Elasticsearch for all of their PeopleSoft applications (FSCM, CRM, HCM and Interaction Hub) and went live on August 27, 2017 along with a PUM upgrade. They worked closely with the Oracle development team and identified issues with attachments, eProcurement, Solutions Search, crawls etc. as part of their PUM upgrade testing which helped Oracle to enhance and improve the product. They have tested the POC for Direct Transfer Method initially for attachments and then for all the crawls and implemented the change as part of their go live which helped with the stability of crawls tremendously and removed the dependency on Integration Broker for crawls. They have also leveraged the inbuilt load balancing feature with 3 node clusters for QA and production environments without any external load balancing appliance. They shared their knowledge and experience at the Healthcare Industry User Group (HIUG) conference 2017 with other customers in Elasticsearch related questions.

Why it’s great

Adventist Health System is using search framework heavily with 23 FSCM, 8 HCM, 4 CRM and 1 Interaction Hub search definitions. This helped in identifying most of the issues and testing the POCs in their research and development environment, while real data helped the Oracle development team to implement and improve the direct transfer method and other enhancements with Elasticsearch. They worked with the Oracle Support and development teams to resolve issues and complete POCs.
