Customer comments
Australian National University has been a PeopleSoft user since 1998. We use HCM - HR, Enterprise HR, Enterprise Payroll, Time and Labour, ePerformance in HCM; Campus Solutions; and Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Purchase Orders, Billing, Inventory, Asset Management in FSCM. We are looking at implementing Travel & Expenses, Supplier Portal, and eProcurement and Contracts.
Configuration:
Over the past several years, we have significantly and consistently invested in reducing and isolating customizations across HCM, Campus Solutions, and FSCM by adopting delivered PeopleSoft configuration and extensibility tools wherever possible.
Using Page and Field Configurator, we have changed labels, hid fields, and made fields display-only across areas such as Company Directory, Resignation, Tuition Calculation, Academic Plan, SCC Bio Demo/Personal Information, TCSI pages, and Equation Variables.
Form Builder supported custom ANU forms without code changes.
We adopted Event Mapping starting with PT 8.55, and have progressively moved existing customizations into Event Mapping during regular maintenance and PUM Image retrofits, especially for validations and processing logic across components, pages, fields, rows, and save events in HCM, FSCM, and Campus Solutions.
With the introduction of Application Engine plug-ins in PT 8.58, we have further extended this approach by moving many batch-process customizations into AE plug-ins across payroll, finance, reporting, admissions, campus community, and student records processes.
Drop Zones have been used to isolate user-interface changes, including custom fields, sections, and instructions in Self Service Name Change, Resignation, Salary Grade Table, ePerformance, and Guided Self Service Position Change, helping us preserve business-specific functionality while reducing retrofit effort and staying closer to delivered PeopleSoft.
We use PeopleSoft Heath Centre and Performance monitoring to monitor PeopleSoft non-Production environments. This uses Open Search indexes.
We are currently using PeopleSoft Test Framework on HCM and have taken scripts live.
We have found PTF to be very useful, and during the PUM update cycle in 2024, one of our scripts failed and we found it was due to an Oracle enhancement for compliance. This was a great way to find changes that impacted our customizations and configurations.
