Buss Group and FPG Raffles Group, in conjunction with their partner SpearMC Consulting, conducted a PeopleTools and Oracle database upgrade while migrating PeopleSoft Financials (as well as a proprietary, non-PeopleSoft system) to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, reducing effort for server operations, server and database deployment, maintenance, networking, and storage, while improving disaster recovery plans.
BUSS Group and FPG Raffles Group in conjunction with their implementation partner SpearMC Consulting, performed a simultaneous PeopleTools 8.55 and Oracle Database 12.2 Upgrade, along with an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) migration of PeopleSoft Financials and an FPG Raffles proprietary container fleet tracking and billing system to OC). This includes both DEV/TEST and all PROD instances.
Upgrades Performed: Oracle 12.1 to 12.2 database upgrade from Windows to Oracle Linux OS, PeopleTools 8.55 Upgrade
Customer was able to reduce the effort for server operations as well as improving their disaster recovery plan. Utilizing OCI alleviated effort related to physical hardware and reduced effort for server and database deployment, maintenance, networking and storage.
Previously, Buss Global and FPG Raffles Group did not have performance monitoring software to interpret slow performance and bottlenecks. OCI easy to use performance monitoring allows them to easily identify issues and make adjustments to CPU, memory and storage.
Notifications of suggested maintenance and an easy GUI driven method for applying Oracle database patches helps Buss Global and FPG Raffles Group to keep up to date with security vulnerabilities.
