Customer comments

Community Health Network (CHN) engaged MIPRO Consulting for a PeopleSoft Update Manager update project with a knowledge transfer being a primary objective to enable them to be self-sufficient in establishing an ongoing PeopleSoft Update Manager Update Strategy. Since the completion of the PeopleSoft Update Manager update project with consulting help, Community Health Network has undertaken their next PeopleSoft Update Manager update following the same methodology and process on their own.

The primary objective of the engagement was to teach Community Health Network on how to execute PeopleSoft Update Manager update projects and create a repeatable process. The majority of the PeopleSoft Update Manager update was to get current and establish a process for Community Health Network to move forward on PUM updates on their own. We did deploy some new functionality as part of the PeopleSoft Update Manager update process. In parallel to executing the PeopleSoft Update Manager update project, they updated their leasing to the new standards and leveraged all the new Lease Administration features in PUM Image 24, 26 and 27. Their current update project is modeled after the one we helped with. They are presently on PUM #31, PeopleTools 8.57.

Their strategy is to do both an HCM and FSCM once per year, but not at the same time. With each update, they pull the list of new features and review them with their functional users to see which ones could have the biggest impact. They then take their recommendations to the respective FSCM and HCM leadership teams to review the recommendations and make a final decision on what will be implemented. They have a very active and collaborative relationship with the functional users and leaders.

Why It is Great

Establishing and following a consistent PUM Update Strategy enables an organization to stay current and more readily adopt the new features and usability tools continuously released by Oracle’s PeopleSoft Product Strategy and Development teams.
