Customer comments
Hennepin County had initially deployed PeopleSoft Test Framework seven years ago. But in 2024, we really upped our game in investing it in FSCM. In 2024, we hired three interns and taught them how to create PTF tests. This helped expand our test coverage and forced us to organize how we create tests, run tests in a batch, and share test results.
The “business process” behind automated testing has matured in 2024 where we have now operationalized the use of PTF. The value it has brought the organization is shown as we implement new images and tools. With FSCM 50 and with our PeopleTools 8.60 dot releases, we have identified bugs in the product quickly.
In the past, with manual testing, the business analyst would find a bug eventually. But we now run our PTF scripts right after a new image and retrofits are completed, but before the functional business analyst starts work on the system. The test scripts are run overnight. So, when the PTF developer arrives in the morning, they can review any failures and determine what needs to be communicated to the business analyst. With this, we know the issue right away, instead of weeks or months into a project. This creates a huge savings in time and awareness.
