Reducing cost of ownership by isolating customizations

Karnataka Bank and the Kovaion team identified over 100 customizations, which were then isolated by using configuration frameworks such as event mapping, Page and Field Configurator, and Application Engine plug-ins.

Application Engine plugins were used in multiple de-customization processes including updating performance documents.

Several customized pages such as absence pages and performance documents were identified. Around 20% of these pages were re-configured using Page and Field Configurator. This is the first step to continued use of configurations to achieve the long-term goal of easy application maintenance and selectively adopt features in the future.
