To support unique business requirements, PeopleSoft delivered utilities such as Activity Guide Composer, Page and Field Configurator, drop zones, guided self-service have been used extensively, transforming a previously manual, labor-intensive workflow to an efficient, modern solution.

Employee life event management

Mayer Brown’s HCM 9.1 system required the benefits team to manage each transaction step manually by receiving information via email, requesting and verifying documentation, manually creating transactions in BAS Activity, and finally processing and closing the transaction. This process was cumbersome, prone to delays, and highly dependent on manual intervention.

Mayer Brown implemented a self-guided fluid UI for life events, covering a broad range of scenarios including birth, adoption, and guardianship; dependent gain or loss of coverage; divorce, legal separation, annulment, end domestic partnership, marriage, and spousal gain or loss of coverage; among others.

The new system incorporates updated fluid security, enabling every employee with a life event transaction to access the activity guide, thereby streamlining the user experience.

The integration of the attachment framework allowed documentation related to life events to be stored and retrieved directly within the system without the need for custom pages. Additionally, the configuration of benefits administration, accessible via run control or on demand, has significantly reduced manual processing, ensuring a smoother, faster, and more secure lifecycle management for employee life events.
