The Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS), in conjunction with their partner MIPRO Consulting, migrated from their existing legacy financial system to the State of Oklahoma's enterprise PeopleSoft environment. The migration included the use of some features like fluid Asset Tracking that the state had not yet deployed. The implementation of the fluid Asset Tracking module has benefited OKDHS in numerous ways, including increased accountability, transparency, and efficiency for the agency. Prior to implementation, the purchasing system was not tied to the manual asset tracking system, and therefore required a very time consuming and manual process to review all purchasing transactions by account code and unit cost. Through automation, the fluid Asset Tracking module has saved the agency internal processing time, while also reducing error rates for both purchasing and asset tracking. Additionally, the implementation has enhanced both the visibility and transparency of the information shared with other state agencies, such as the Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES) asset management team.
