The State of Connecticut has implemented Business Process Weaver functionality to simplify month-end accounting period closing for Asset Management. This has dramatically expedited the task as it eliminates the need for ad hoc individual steps and instead runs them in sequence while also reusing the same process run control and Process Weaver ID. Steps can be re-initiated should they error out after troubleshooting fixes. Relevant parties are notified via email as each step completes. There's an elimination of the possibility that users change data while closing without the need to lock them out or begin the process after hours. And the whole process even pauses at one point to allow the functional team time to update the active accounting periods.
