In September of 2023, University of Florida Health announced the acquisition of Flagler Health+. The acquisition included Flagler Health, a 335-bed hospital in St. Augustine Florida as well as other sites of care. The acquisition has enabled patients in the St. Johns Florida area to have access to increased resources for their health care needs. As part of the acquisition, Flagler Health+ was renamed to UF Health St. Johns.
To streamline operations, reduce costs, and provide better support to the UF Health St. Johns community, a decision was made to retire the existing HCM and ERP systems that have been in use and to integrate those functions within the existing PeopleSoft HCM instance already in use at other University of Florida Health hospitals and clinics. The project to formally move all of the UF Health St. Johns HCM operations over to the UFH PeopleSoft instance began in early 2024 and was fully completed on December 28, 2024 in time for the existing systems to be retired for 2025.
The project has been well received overall. The HR staff is delighted that they no longer need to straddle two different HCM systems. End users enjoy the additional self-service benefits that the PeopleSoft system provides to them. The cost savings, efficiencies, and other synergies achieved have helped to achieve significantly lower operating costs for UF Health St. Johns.
