University of Massachusetts selectively adopted HR notifications

Summary

The University of Massachusetts selectively adopted the HR notifications feature because they needed a way to send monthly email updates to selected, large groups of employees. Previously, the University of Massachusetts would largely handle these notifications through multiple queries and manually sending out emails from their help desk. Now, someone with a functional role is able to manage the process.

Customer comments

The University of Massachusetts is a five-campus public university system with 73,000 students and the only public research system in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

UMass selectively adopted the HR notifications feature originally delivered in HCM Image 34 because they needed a way to send monthly email updates to selected, large groups of employees — for example, for tax withholding W-4 form renewals, direct deposit sign-ups, and notifications when paychecks have been processed. Prior to this, UMass would largely handle these notifications through multiple queries and manually sending out emails from their help desk.

Notable advantages UMass observed were that HR notifications included formatting options for the emails, logging capabilities for notifications, and that someone with a functional role could manage the process.
