Summary

The University of New South Wales, in conjunction with their partner Deloitte, isolated customizations using PeopleSoft-delivered frameworks. In addition, they used delivered frameworks to handle business-specific custom approvals and notifications.

Customer comments

The University of New South Wales (UNSW) implemented PeopleSoft Time and Labor including bolt-on functionality (Statement of Duties) to assign tasks, fixed hours, and GL costings specific to casual academic cohorts.

As part of the Time and Labor rollout, we leveraged the below frameworks to address key business requirements:

  • Notifications: HR notifications for timesheet submission and approval reminders across cohorts.
  • Approvals: Page Composer to setup fluid approvals for custom business processes - statement of duties for casual academics.
  • Delegations: Extended our classic delegation framework configurations to include statement of duty (task allocation) and timesheet approvals.
  • Security: Group build definitions to secure timesheet administration as opposed to TL permission list security. This was done to expedite the group access provisioning and to make it HR services function rather than HR IT.

Additionally, we isolated customization requirements with the below frameworks for ease of maintenance

  • Page and Field Configurator (PFC) for timesheet page changes and usability improvements.
  • Event mapping for all custom validations as part of time submission and approval.
  • Application Engine plugins for enhancements to the auto enrolment process and maintain data integrity.
