Customer comments
University of Newcastle worked with DXC Technology to deploy PeopleSoft Test Framework for functional and regression testing during the university’s Peoplesoft Campus Solutions upgrade from update image 25 to 30.
Deployment of PeopleSoft Test Framework for this image uptake has resulted in:
- Reduced manual effort and increased accuracy: Streamlining the testing process has resulted in reducing manual effort and increasing accuracy in approximately 50% of the total test cases.
- Increased efficiency: The ease with which test data could be created for regression tests and retesting of bug fixes has expedited the testing.
- Re-usability: It was a one-time effort to prepare the scripts that could be reused for various projects.
- Cost and resource savings: Automation reduced the number of resources needed for testing, and hence lowered overall costs.
- Early identification of bugs: Issues emerging due to retrofits (re-application of customizations) and data conversions were identified early during the unit testing phase since PTF scripts have the ability to highlight any component-level changes.
University of Newcastle, in conjunction with their partner DXC Technology, plans to leverage this success and extend the usage of PeopleSoft Test Framework to the university’s customizations and the university’s specific business processes. The goal is to automate the university’s entire functional and regression testing with PeopleSoft Test Framework for the next upgrade and other major projects.
