About Menu Item Maintenance

Menu Items may be either food or beverage items. For convenience, they are grouped into menu Item Classes. For example, the Menu Item Class "Desserts" might include Menu Items such as "Crème Brûlée," "Peach Cobbler," "Chocolate Mousse," and so on. All dishes that are offered as part of standard menus within the framework of banquet or conference bookings should be created as Menu Items. Menu Items may also include food or beverage items served in the hotel restaurants if these are booked for meals through the Catering & Banquet department. If the hotel allows exchange of dishes within a menu, the available alternatives should also be created as Menu Items. You must have the Revenue Types configured prior to creating Menu Items.
